News Summary of Collaboration and Shared Services from 2nd August 2017

From the volume of news this week, Health & Social Care are the growth areas in collaborative working at the moment. But the mergers of housing associations will provide fertile ground for collaborative working as they begin to explore the collaborative transformation that will need to take place to deliver the change programme required.

Meanwhile, over in Essex the Police & Crime Commissioner has been given the go-ahead to be the first PCC take the fire service into their portfolio; an exercise that we will keep you up to date with.

Councillors are currently discussing how the merger might work and looking at a potential increase in council tax in the South Hams, to raise the council tax rate to the same rate that West Devon residents pay, because at the moment West Devon residents pay more than South Hams residents.
